ppt.helper is a CAT tool that helps language professionals translate MS PowerPoint presentations. Compact and easy-to-use, ppt.helper is extremely effective and fast in handling presentations. It ensures terminological consistency and accuracy in any project, regardless of the size and language combination. ppt.helper operates as a stand-alone application and is compatible with Trados, Wordfast and other professional language software packages.
Key features
ppt.helper runs as a separate program and maintains the formatting of the source text;
ppt.helper extracts the content of a MS PowerPoint presentation in a user-friendly environment for translation. At the translator’s option, the text can be automatically extracted from the slides, headers, notes, slide master, handout master, notes master, and title master;
once the source text has been translated in the convenient environment, a target presentation is created where the original formatting is maintained;
ppt.helper creates its own translation memory where the linguistic data is stored in the plain text format. You can define the fuzziness level for the translation or minimum match value;
ppt.helper performs a concordance search in the translation memory and represents the results in a pop-up window;
the translation memory generated by ppt.helper is stored in a *.tmx format – a standard XML format for the representation of translation memory data (compatible with SDL Trados, Wordfast etc.).
the translated file does not require any clean up procedures. All you need is to make a brief review of the translated presentation or bilingual text;
ppt.helper can handle any language supported by Microsoft Word including Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Cyrillic, European etc.
ppt.helper counts words and characters both with spaces and without spaces as well as the number of embedded objects in the translated file
